Settings

Settings are grouped into categories in the sidebar of the Settings page. Changes apply immediately; there is no save button.

Account

Your display name and profile picture. Both only affect the greeting and avatar inside the app. There is no account or sign-in.

General

• Launch at startup starts Mnemo when you log in.
• Toast notifications controls the popup banners in the corner of the window. With toasts off, notifications collect behind the bell icon instead.
• Language switches the interface language: English, Spanish, German, Norwegian (Bokmål), or Japanese.
• Gamification shows an XP and streak badge in the top bar, fed by your study statistics.

Editor

Writing options and typography for the note editor:

• Spellcheck on or off, plus which dictionary languages to use.
• Editor width.
• Typography controls: block spacing, line height, letter spacing, text size, code size, and math size.
• The Auto save toggle currently has no effect. Notes always save automatically.

Appearance

Three built-in themes: Dawn (light, the default), Noon (warm light), and Dusk (dark). You can also pick an alternative app icon. There is no custom theme or accent color support.

Mindmap

Canvas preferences: grid style and size, minimap visibility, and how modifier keys behave while dragging.

AI Tools

Everything related to the experimental AI assistant: enabling it, downloading local models, GPU acceleration, and local knowledge indexing. See AI assistant.

Updates

Automatic update checks and a manual Check now button. Your current version is shown here. See Installation.

Hotkeys

Opens the keybind manager. See Keyboard shortcuts.
